What it is

One dial, holding the whole of a job.

Key Dials takes work that is too involved for a checklist and too repeatable to reinvent, and holds it as a single face your whole team can read. Not a project plan, not a task list — a picture of where something actually is, with the proof attached where it belongs.

See what is on track, what is at risk, and where action is needed.

Our Key Dial technology enables leaders to quickly see what's on track, what's at risk, and where action is needed — whether that's performance, compliance, sustainability, project delivery or personal development.

Reading a dial

There is not much to learn, which is the point. Five colours and one shape, the same everywhere.

A segment is a step
One arc for each stage of the work, in the order it happens. A dial with eight arcs is a job with eight steps — not a metaphor for one.
Its colour is its status
Complete, in progress, at risk, overdue, not started. The same five colours mean the same five things on every dial anybody in your organisation will ever open.
The evidence lives on the step
The certificate, the photograph, the sign-off attach to the arc they prove. That is what makes a green defensible rather than a claim somebody made.
The centre is the honest summary
It counts what is genuinely finished. It cannot be edited to look better, because it is derived from the steps rather than typed in.
Dials roll into dials
A site, a property, a learner each keeps its own. The face above them is made of theirs, so an overview can never disagree with the detail beneath it.

What you get out of it

  • Everyone sees the same picture

One dial, colour-coded, open to whoever should see it. The status update stops being a meeting and becomes a glance.

  • Nothing quietly gets skipped

The right way to do the job is built into the dial, so the person doing it inherits the method instead of remembering it.

  • The proof sits with the point

Certificates, photographs, reports and sign-offs attach to the step they evidence. When somebody asks, it is already there.

  • It repeats without decaying

Run the same dial for the next job, the next site or the next year. The history stays answerable, and standards hold.

  • It works where the work is

On a phone, on site, in the rain, with gloves on and no signal. It catches up when the connection does.

  • Oversight without chasing

Many dials roll into one. See every site, school or team in a single face, and open any one without asking anybody for an update.

The fastest way to understand a dial is to watch one of your own processes become one. Bring the job that costs you most when it goes wrong.
