Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember things about your visit. Websites and apps can also keep information in your browser's own storage (local storage), which works in a similar way. This policy covers both.

2. What we use

We use only what Key Dials needs to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use cookies from other companies to follow you around the web, so there is nothing to switch on or off.

On keydials.com (our website):

• Discount and referral codes. If you arrive through a link with a discount or referral code, we keep the code in your browser's storage so it is applied when you buy.

In the Key Dials web apps:

• Sign-in. A cookie called `kde-session` tells the app you are signed in. It cannot be read by scripts, and lasts up to 30 days in the web app and 1 day in the admin app, or until you sign out. Your sign-in tokens are kept in your browser's storage.
• Your preferences. Things like your colour theme, the last tab you used, and drafts you have not saved yet are kept in your browser's storage so the app remembers them.
• Shared tablets. If your organisation uses Key Dials on a shared tablet, the lock settings are kept in that tablet's browser storage.
• Keeping the app working. We measure how quickly pages load and record errors, using Microsoft Azure Application Insights, so we can find and fix problems. This does not use cookies.

All of these are strictly necessary for the website and apps to do what you ask, so they do not need your consent.

3. Managing them

You can delete cookies and stored information, or block them, through your browser settings. If you do, you will be signed out of the app and it will forget your preferences, and blocking them altogether will stop you signing in.

4. Videos

Some pages on our website include videos from YouTube. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not store information about you until you play a video. When you play one, YouTube's own policies apply: see policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using new tools. If we ever add cookies that need your consent, we will ask you first. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
