The step gets missed because recording it meant going back to a desk. A dial is only honest if it can be updated standing in front of the thing it describes — in the rain, in a stairwell, with gloves on.
Where this stands today. The dial works in a phone browser now, and the section below is what that gives you. The dedicated field app — offline-first, glove-sized, readable in sunlight — is in development and not yet available to download. We would rather say so here than have you find out on a roof.

The dial opens on a phone
The same dial, the same statuses, in a mobile browser. Nothing to install, and nothing different to learn from the version on the desk.
Photographs attach where you are
Take the picture of the wall, the meter or the certificate and put it on the step it proves, standing in front of the thing it proves.
Readable at arm’s length
Big targets and high-contrast status colours, because a phone held at arm’s length in daylight is the real reading condition.

The field app
Everything a browser cannot do on a site with no bars. It is being built against the same dials, so it is the same work seen through a tool shaped for the conditions.
Works with no signal at all
A plant room, a basement, a rural site. The app holds the work locally and syncs when the connection comes back, rather than failing at the moment you need it.
Designed for gloves
Larger touch targets than a browser can reasonably offer, and no fiddly gestures — the whole interface sized for a hand that cannot take the glove off.
Built for sunlight
A high-contrast mode for a screen being read outdoors, where the ordinary theme simply disappears.
