A development plan is usually a document that is written in September, quoted at governors in February and honestly assessed in July. Held as a dial it stops being a document: three sub-dials — culture and behaviour, learning and development, inclusive environment — each owned by the leader responsible, rolling into one face the board can read in the meeting rather than after it.
The face above cannot flatter the dials beneath it. It is made of them.
What the master dial holds
Three stages, one per sub-dial, and eleven improvement areas beneath them. The master never carries evidence of its own — every green on this face was earned on a dial below it.
Dials created with partners start with a basic dial, and can then have additional sections (the outer ring) and segments (the inner slices) added. There are many other benefits and features we can share with potential partners and clients.
